Credit card issuers have reduced lending limits to protect themselves when consumers get in trouble Q I have been paying down my credit cards, and the issuer has reduced my available balance on one. I have had these two cards for more than five years and never had a late payment. Why are they cancelling credit cards and/or reducing available credit on people who are paying their bills on time?
